Tasting Notes

Full, even, dark ruby-red in color, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is elegantly preserved, but well- concentrated, the fruit expression is a little reserved initially, unfolding vibrant dark raspberries and blackberries, lifted by subtle, fragrant spice notes and aromatic black pepper, licorice and cedar. On the palate, it is full-bodied, well concentrated, and sweetly rich. Succulent flavors of dark raspberries and blackberries are melded with layers of black pepper, licorice and Asian spices. Fine-grained, flowery tannins provide strong grip and structure, and the palate flows with acid vibrancy and energy, carrying to a luscious and lingering finish of black fruits and spices.

Winemaker Notes

Remembered as one of the shortest and fastest vintages, 2015 had near perfect conditions throughout. Mild ripening conditions with below average temperatures set up the perfect ripening. A great vintage was capped off by above average grape yields and high quality fruit. Delicate flavors and the Shiraz has full ripeness and deep intense colors, balanced by really good natural acidity.

This wine pairs nicely with fried tofu and spicy ginger sesame sauce, beef stir fry with fresh pickled ginger or sticky barbequed beef ribs.
