Chateau Ferry Lacombe Haedus Rose 2018
Haedus 2018 Rose has a pale pink color with light peach reflections. The nose is elegant and fruity, revealing pretty aromas of yellow peach, necatarine and pineapple. Further aeration reveals notes of red fruits including strawberry and pomegranate. The fresh and unctuous palate is also very expressive, with hints of yellow peach and red fruits. This wine shows a very beautiful aromatic persistence with citrus notes in the finish, which gives it a very nice length.
In an effort to limit the loss of color, the grapes are harvested before sunrise in order to transport them as cold as possible to the winery. They undergo systematic sorting and are vinified at temperatures between 14˚ C (57.2 ˚ F) and 18˚ C (64.4 ˚ F) in temperature controlled vats. Malolactic fermentation is blocked to preserve the wine’s natural acidity.
This wine is ideal to serve by itself as an aperitif, but is also excellent with white meats or grilled fish, mixed salads, Paella or Thai Satays.
Haedus, which in Latin means “kid”, is a star in the northern constellation of Auriga.
