Gustave Lorentz Gewurztraminer Reserve 2018
The Gewurztraminer Reserve has a clear, golden yellow color, with an expressive floral nose redolent of roses, as well as apricots and tropical fruit. It’s fresh and supple, complex and rich, with an impressive structure. Tastes of exotic fruits and spices with a peppery/ginger finish – well-balanced and dry-ish.
The soil is a mix of clay and limestone. The limestone, deep "Muschelkalk" (fossil) below the surface, allow the grapes to reach maturity. All grapes are picked and sorted by hand. The wine goes through a settling of the juice (debourbage) which
eliminates the impurities contained in the must. Fermentation takes place in concrete vats lined with glass under temperature control. This vintage is very pleasant in its youth but also has an aging potential of 5 to 7 years.
This wine can be enjoyed with spicy, Chinese food, sweet & sour dishes, mild curry or Tandoori chicken.
